Katrina Mugume (she/her) is a Ugandan filmmaker, creative storyteller and producer based in Vancouver, British Columbia where she dabbles in everything creative from filmmaking to podcasts and Black community advocacy.

A graduate of Simon Fraser University’s school of contemporary arts, she holds a BFA in Film production with demonstrated experience in art education, technical editing, creative writing, professional communication and event coordination.

"My current artistic practice is heavily influenced by my desire to put stories of the global African diaspora on screen, in more nuanced and accurate narratives. To explore our humanity in contrast to the times. I am ever fascinated by the relationship between the power of the visual medium , and the responsibility we share as creators."

Katrina currently lives and works on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm(Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh(Squamish) and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations, otherwise known as Vancouver, Canada.
